Green Wreaths Workshop

Wister Center
Create a unique and festive wreath with a variety of freshly cut greens. Our moss-filled frames allow for long-lasting decorations for your home and also make wonderful holiday gifts. Those of you who have already taken this class and wish to get started without instruction may do so during any of the classes provided. Please bring pruners and plastic (dish) gloves. We supply all other materials. Limited to 20 per session (8 for Session E). No instructors will be available for Session E.

Holiday Greens Sale

Wister Center
Gorgeous greens, holiday accents, and long-lasting wreaths are all available at the Holiday Greens Sale. Entrance is free and the public is welcome!
Finished wreaths designed by the talented and experienced volunteers and staff at the Scott Arboretum will also be available for purchase. Our wreaths are fresh and have been created using damp sphagnum moss. This technique has been selected to ensure a long-lasting wreath. Customers have expressed delight and satisfaction upon finding that their wreaths have remained attractive well into January.

Nature's Narratives: A Country Year: Living the Questions

Join fellow garden enthusiasts and book lovers as they discuss books about plants, nature, and the environment. “Nature’s Narratives” is a book discussion group sponsored by the Scott Arboretum where readers come together to discuss a book once a month and share in the reading experience. This month the group will discuss Sue Hubbell's A Country Year: Living the Questions. A beekeeper living alone on a 100-acre farm in the Ozarks welcomes us into her world through a series of touching vignettes.
The discussions are free and open to the public. Participants will need to read each month’s selection prior to the discussion. Call 610-328-8025 to register.

Guided Tour: A Walk with the Curator

Tours depart from the Scott Arboretum Offices and are free and open to the public.
Join Andrew Bunting, Curator of the Scott Arboretum, for a series of free tours at the Scott Arboretum. "A Walk with the Curator" program provides an in-depth look at the collections, gardens, and plant selections through the eyes of the man responsible for curating the collection. Andrew Bunting will discuss the most recent accessions acquired for the collection, why plants were removed from the collection and maybe should be removed from your garden, as well as the latest garden designs at the Scott Arboretum.
