More than 50 types of dogwoods are displayed at the Scott Arboretum. Best represented
are the native flowering dogwood cultivars (Cornus florida), Korean dogwood cultivars
(Cornus kousa), and the Rutgers hybrids. These trees light up the Arboretum with white
and pink flowers during the spring. In addition, a variety of shrubby dogwoods enliven the campus during winter with their brilliant yellow, orange, and red stems.
