Adirondack Chairs
We welcome the opportunity to add Adirondack Chairs to Parrish Lawn in the Scott Arboretum through generous contributions. This information may be helpful should you decide to give a contribution for a dedicated Adirondack Chair.- The standard contribution for an Adirondack chair is $1,000.
- A brass engraved plaque will be added to the side of the chair noting the dedication information as specified by you. Text may be up to 4 lines, 55 characters per line (including spaces). One line may have larger letters, with a maximum of 25 characters. The plaque measures 2" x 6". This recognition will be for the life of the chair purchased with the contribution.
- Your donation will be acknowledged by receipt from the College’s gift record department for tax purposes.
- It may take as long as 3 months for us to get the chair and have it painted although generally it doesn’t take that long.
- The plaque and dedication will be contingent on the life of the chair. These chairs are placed on Parrish Lawn during the growing season and are re-painted as needed each winter.
- The Arboretum and College will endeavor to keep the chairs on the Parrish Lawn, and move them back there if they are moved by students; however, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so at all times.
- Gifts of dedicated Adirondack chairs will be recognized in the Scott Arboretum Annual Report.
The traditional white Adirondack chairs on Parrish Lawn have become an endearing symbol of the college, but they also encourage students and visitors to linger in this beautiful landscape, so they are a fitting and cherished way to pay tribute to someone or some special anniversary or event. Thank you for your interest in our dedicated programs.
