October 2 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pmComing Soon
Swarthmore College announced Tuesday, March 17″..disappointing news that we must extend our period of modified operations and remote learning through the end of the spring semester. …Alumni Weekend, spring athletics, Celebrating Black Excellence events, lectures, performances, and other campus activities scheduled between now and May 31 are also canceled.”
Join Lars Rasmussen Scott Arboretum garden supervisor (who is also in charge of plant health) for a serious and humorous discussion to learn about some of his favorite kinds of plants, their use as houseplants and how they work in the garden. These plants surprise with an amazing variety of form and flowers. Lars will discuss some of his favorites; we will look at care, pest and diseases, soil and light, dividing and handling, repotting and the tools required. Lars has been growing these plants since childhood and will discuss his experiences. Besides class time we will also look at cacti and succulents used throughout the Scott Arboretum in containers and gardens as well as tour a campus green roof. Attendees will take a potted succulent or cactus home to enjoy. Limit 18.
