SUMMARY:Travels @ 12: Gardens of the East Coast
DESCRIPTION:Join Rachel Warren as she shares her east coast garden travels from 2023. We will start in the north by traveling to the Heritage Museum and Gardens in Sandwich\, Massachusetts and then to the historical Untermyer Garden in Yonkers\, New York. Then we will hop on a plane and travel to Huntsville Botanical Gardens in Huntsville\, AL and Flamingo Gardens in Davie\, FL. See the variety that east coast gardens have to offer! \nTravels @ 12 is an online series for plant enthusiasts to vicariously experience gardens and natural spaces throughout the world.  \nRegistration is free\, but required to receive the Zoom webinar and recording links. \n \nProgram Details \n\nThe webinar link will be included in the confirmation email received after registering online.\nThis webinar will be recorded and available for 2 weeks after the presentation.\nRecording link will be available 2 days after the webinar.\nParticipants must download Zoom.\nEmail us if you have accessibility needs for this program.\nFor more information\, review our program and event policies or call the Scott Arboretum office at 610-328-8025. \n\n  \nAbout the Presenter \nRachel Warren joined the staff as the Assistant Education Programs Manager for Youth\, Family and Diverse Audiences in September of 2022. Rachel facilitates Scott Arboretum field trips\, the School’s Out and Nature Nook program and the Chester Children’s Chorus Arboreum Class.  Prior to coming to the Arboretum she was an elementary school teacher in Maryland and Delaware for seven years. Her favorite subject to teach is science and she loves bringing students into nature. In her previous positions she facilitated the school-wide Science Fair\, led after school Yoga/Mindfulness Clubs and organized field trips for the entire grade. Rachel completed a Masters of Education in Teacher Leadership at the University of Delaware following her completion of a B.S. in elementary and special education\, also at the University of Delaware. \nDue to unforeseen circumstances\, Joey Santore will not be presenting on Plant Ecology and Evolution from Around the World.
