Gardens and Tonic: Making Beautiful Books

April 1, 2021 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Join Rob Cardillo for a behind the scenes look at the joys and challenges of photographing three very different garden books – A Year at Brandywine Cottage (David Culp and Denise Cowie), Twenty One Trees (Mountain Top Arboretum), and The Seasonal Border (NYBG). Rob Cardillo has been photographing gardens, plants, and the people who love them for nearly thirty years. He’s been credited as the primary photographer in over twenty-five books including these Timber publications: The Art of Gardening at Chanticleer (by R.W.Thomas), The Layered Garden (by David Culp), and Chasing Eden (by Jack Staub). Rob’s work is also seen in publications such as Country Gardens, Gardens Illustrated, and The New York Times. Along with his Blue Root Media partners, Rob provides editorial content for an award-winning regional gardening magazine, GROW, published quarterly by the venerable Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. Winner of numerous photography awards, Rob was inducted into the Garden Writer’s Association Hall of Fame in 2015. You can see more of his work at www.robcardillo.com. Please note this Gardens and Tonic will NOT be recorded.

Gardens and Tonic is a series of virtual webinars with horticulture professionals. Grab your favorite beverage and join Julie Jenney from the Scott Arboretum and a featured horticulture professional for plant-related topics, adventures, and stories – as well as design-focused talks on private and public gardens. Time will be set aside to answer your questions.

Registration is free but required. Participants must have Zoom downloaded on their computer and be comfortable using it. The webinar link will be included in the confirmation email received after registering online.
