Gardens and Tonic: Welcome to Peony Season: Let’s Arrange with One of Nature’s Stars!

May 6 @ 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm

Free

Join Valerie McLaughlin, American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD), for a virtual webinar featuring this lush, lovely gift from the garden – peonies! Learn easy, unique, and interesting techniques showcasing this magnificent flower that is just starting to bloom in May. Since this will be a recorded webinar you can watch Valerie as she arranges and then follow the recording if you’d like to try it on your own. Love peonies and want to learn more about growing them in your garden? Then be sure to join us on May 13 for the Gardens and Tonic: Tree Peonies and More with Jeff Jabco.

Valerie McLaughlin is a freelance floral designer in Wallingford, Pennsylvania where she creates custom arrangements. She is an active member of AIFD and teaches from her home, on stage, online, and for public gardens like the Scott Arboretum and Longwood Gardens. She is also involved with the Philadelphia Flower Show – this year she is the lead designer for the AIFD major exhibit so be sure to find her at FDR Park June 5 through June 13. Most of all, Valerie’s creative, distinct designs reflect her joy and passion for living.

Gardens and Tonic is a series of virtual webinars with horticulture professionals. Grab your favorite beverage and join Julie Jenney from the Scott Arboretum and a featured horticulture professional for plant-related topics, adventures, and stories – as well as design-focused talks on private and public gardens. Time will be set aside to answer your questions.

Registration is free but required. Participants must have Zoom downloaded on their computer and be comfortable using it. The webinar link will be included in the confirmation email received after registering online.
