Per the Swarthmore College’s Policy (In the interest of social distancing, group gatherings and events on campus are limited to no more than 25 participants in the same physical space, effective March 15 through at least Sunday, April 5.), we have canceled this event.
Enjoy the benefits of yoga in our beautiful gardens with local yoga teacher and Scott Arboretum Education Programs Intern, Mandie Curtis Banks. Each month (March 6, April 3, May 1, and June 5) we will focus on a different garden and enjoy a theme-based yoga practice, which will coincide with the season and the particular garden we are practicing in. The class will be a gentle slow flow and is great for yogis of all ability levels to slow down and find ease. Soothed by the sights, sounds, and smells of nature, you can expect to move your body in a gentle, comfortable way with an emphasis on safe alignment and yoga sequencing that integrates breath and meditative techniques. After the class, take some time to explore the gardens and Mandie will be on hand to walk the grounds and answer any questions. Classes will take place inside if the weather isn’t comfortable. Dress appropriately and bring a yoga mat. Limit 15; minimum 3.
Mandie is a certified Vinyasa Flow Yoga RYT instructor through Yoga Alliance and also has her trauma-informed certificate.
