SUMMARY:Lecture: Creating Beauty through Garden Adversity
DESCRIPTION:Co-Sponsored with  \n\n \nEvery gardener operates within constraints; poor soil\, a steep grade\, unfortunate drainage\, and unsightly views are just a few factors that may impede the pursuit of a great garden. In this talk\, author Nicole Juday will share creative solutions employed by the most talented gardeners in our region\, using examples that appear in her book Private Gardens of Philadelphia\, with photos by Rob Cardillo. Learn how some of the best gardens in our region work with their inherent limitations –rather than against them– with outstanding results.  \nJoin us before the event for a tour of the Arboretum’s camellias in honor of our 95th anniversary. A reception with the opportunity to purchase Private Gardens of Philadelphia and book signing will follow the lecture.  \n \n \nProgram Details \n\nAll registrations include access to the recording. \nIn-person registration is limited to 190. She then served as Director of Audience Engagement at the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society. She has gone on to publish numerous articles\, winning a silver medal for her writing by the Garden Writers Association. She serves as board chair for the IDEAL Industries Foundation.
