School’s Out: Fall for Nature Crafts!

November 2, 2021 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm

Free

Drop by the Scott Arboretum and make a fall-inspired nature craft on your day off from school! Create a beautiful botanical miniature pumpkin using natural materials from the Scott Arboretum and try your hand at making a tissue paper marigold flower in honor of the holiday Día de los Muertos, which we will also be celebrating on this day! While you are here you can view our Día de los Muertos altar, created by Director Claire Sawyers and Gardener Sandra Lopez Cortez, which will be on display in the Wister Center.

The craft tables will be located in the Cherry Border, a perfect place to enjoy an afternoon picnic and play with lawn games and garden themed toys! Complete the day exploring our gardens and grounds with a family scavenger hunt which will be available at the craft tables.

This is a free, drop in event and no registration is required. Crafts are available while supplies last.

A tent will be covering the craft tables if rain is forecast, but if severe weather occurs the event will be cancelled.

Please note: The Scott Arboretum is a department of Swarthmore College and is required to uphold all College decisions regarding COVID19. All programming is subject to change based on College safety protocols. Check for latest COVID updates from Swarthmore College here.
