Sunny Borders in a Changing Climate

November 3, 2017 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

Co-sponsored with the Association of Professional Landscape Designers (1.5 APLD credits available)

Our featured speaker will be Longwood Gardens Section Gardener, Karl Gercens, who is responsible for many of the changing displays in the four-acre conservatory. His presentation will focus on design trends for outdoor sunny gardens he has experienced around the country and the globe.

In a time when weather is becoming more extreme, our design focus will hone in on plants that are adaptable for drought and heat tolerance, as well as those with early and late appeal. Small space challenges are trending including how to fit as much interest into gardens that are getting less and less expansive. Karl will discuss design challenges one might encounter showcasing success and failure. Everything is a learning opportunity! Limit 40.

Members of the Scott Arboretum and APLD: $20              Non-members: $30
