Two Private Mainline Gardens and Chanticleer

September 14 @ 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

$40 - $80

Arrival at first garden by 9:15

This is a drive on your own trip and carpooling is strongly encouraged as only 10 cars will fit at the first location.

I’m delighted to add another trip to our autumn line-up! Local landscape architect Jonathan Alderson will be guiding us through two of his beautifully designed client gardens while discussing his design intent. After our two private garden tours you will have time to enjoy lunch in nearby Wayne, or to enjoy at a picnic table at Chanticleer before our tour begins with a member of Chanticleer staff. The conclusion of the day will depend on how long you’d like to stay at Chanticleer after our 90-minute tour. Jonathan has kindly offered to lead both tours at no charge. To keep this trip intimate, and considering the space constraints at the private gardens, registration is limited to 20 people. Directions to the two gardens will be emailed after registration.

Jonathan Alderson Landscape Architects, Inc. is a design practice focused on innovative approaches to shaping the land. Since 1998 their firm has been creating beautiful environmentally minded landscapes that invite exploration. Their designs are informed by an intimate understanding of the Mid-Atlantic region, its landscape, and its history. They believe that the use of native plantings and local materials, combined with a strong regard for site and ecology, creates places that are rooted in the local vernacular. I invite you to peruse their website:http://www.jonathanalderson.com/ to get a sense of their design style.

Registration is closed.

*A terrific incentive to become a member! Excursions with the Scott Associates are member benefits; the non-member fee reflects the member cost of the trip plus a $40 one-year Individual Membership.
