Virtual Cooking Class: In a Pickle

Calling all cooking enthusiasts! Join Education Programs and Events Assistant and healthy home cook Mandie Curtis Banks for a virtual cooking class on Thursday, August 6 from 4 – 5 pm. Mandie will guide viewers through a step by step process on how to make homemade pickles and seasonal peach salsa. By late summer veggie gardeners everywhere will have lots of cucumbers on hand. Pickling is a great and delicious option for a surplus of cukes. We’ll also make a delicious peach salsa which will feature the sweet stone fruit and another veggie garden staple; the tomato. These two summertime favorite fruits make a fantastic pair in this sweet and savory salsa. An ingredient list will be provided for all registrants in advance of the class so you can scavenge your garden, check your pantries, or visit your local grocery store. This class will be fun and appropriate for all levels of home cooks and you will have jars of delicious homemade pickles and salsa to enjoy or share.
Registration is $10 for members and $15 for nonmembers. Registration is required and limited to 25 people.
Registrants will receive an email with a zoom link to participate. Participants must have Zoom downloaded on their computer and be comfortable using it.
