Join Scott Arboretum staff and local gardening enthusiasts as they share travel experiences abroad! In addition to learning about spectacular gardens, plants, and landscapes, you’ll get a taste of the art, cuisine, architecture, and customs of lands near and far. It’s a perfect wintertime escape!
Charles Cresson and Sharee Solow, local horticulture professionals, extended their trip by 10 days before joining the Scott tour, visiting many private gardens in the Algarve region along the south coast, where the climate is similar to Baja, California. Ending with several days in Lisbon, they saw a number of gardens not on the Scott tour. You will enjoy the extensive collections of cactus, succulents and tropicals interspersed with tuk-tuk rides and the necessary stops for wine and grilled sardines.
