Wanderings at One: Gardens of the Netherlands: From Palace Gardens to the Dutch Wave

February 22 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Join Scott Arboretum staff and local gardening enthusiasts as they share travel experiences abroad! In addition to learning about spectacular gardens, plants, and landscapes, you’ll get a taste of the art, cuisine, architecture, and customs of lands near and far. It’s a perfect wintertime escape!

Experience Dutch private and public gardens in a range of styles! Melita Schmeckpeper, Education Intern, will share photos from her 2017 trip, during which she toured a variety of naturalistic gardens (including Piet Oudolf’s private garden at Hummelo), visited the formal gardens of Het Loo Palace, and explored Amsterdam and Groningen. Expect everything from lovely prairie-style gardens to green roofs perched atop houseboats!

Free and open to the public, Wanderings at One is an informal way to share what has been seen and discovered in various gardens and natural spaces both in the United States and abroad. Held from 1 to 2 p.m. in the Lang Performing Arts Center Cinema at Swarthmore College.
