In honor of the Japanese tradition of viewing autumn leaves (Momijigari, literally “hunting red leaves), the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Ohara School of Ikebana will present a fall exhibition to coincide with the changing colors of our maple trees. Ikebana, also known as the “way of flowers,” is the art of Japanese flower arrangement and is subtle, sensitive, sophisticated, and meditative. It utilizes flowers, leaves, and branches, as well as unexpected and/or unconventional materials.
Members of the Ohara School of Ikebana will be available to answer questions about the art form and arrangements displayed. This event is free and open to the public.
