
During this online offering, join storyteller and gardener Martin Stott as he presents a fascinating journey into what makes roses so special and the story of their evolution. Take a virtual behind-the-scenes look at the roses at Longwood Gardens and Scott Arboretum & Gardens, how they came to be, and the people involved in their cultivation and success. Come away from this class with a stronger understanding of rose history and the development of rose hybridization.

About the Presenters
Martin Stott is a former journalist who has made programs for the BBC and American radio from 21 countries. He is the author of the Storyteller Garden history blog. Stott has written for Gardens Illustrated and Hortus and is the co-editor of By Any Other Name, the heritage rose journal of the World Federation of Rose Societies.
Adam Glas, Gardener Supervisor, joined the Scott Arboretum & Gardens staff in 2012. Before that, he worked as Nursery Manager at Terrain (at Styer’s) Nursery in Glen Mills. He was accepted into the Longwood Gardens Professional Gardener (PG) Training Program, completing that program in 2006. He currently serves as president for the PG Alumni Association and vice president of the board of managers at Chenoa Manor. He studied Horticulture and Landscape Design at University of Wisconsin River Falls.
