New Member Benefits

Scott Saplings

Scott Associates at the Family level and above can register up to 4 children (ages 0-18) as Scott Saplings. These can be any children in your life – kids, grandkids, friends, or family! Each Scott Sapling receives their own membership card and adventure pack to prepare them for a year of fun at the Arboretum.

Reciprocal Garden Network

Scott Arboretum & Gardens is part of the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Garden Network. This means that all Scott Associate members may use their current membership card to enjoy free admission or other benefits to 380+ gardens throughout North America. Learn more about the ins and outs of the program and explore a map of participating gardens. Thank you for being a member!

LEVELS & BENEFITS

All members receive:

  • Free admission or other benefits to 380+ North American gardens through the American Horticultural Society’s Reciprocal Garden Network
  • Ticket(s) to Garden Day, an annual tour of private gardens
  • Hybrid, the Arboretum’s quarterly newsletter, with useful information on new plants and gardening trends. See sample issue here.
  • Invitations to the Scott Medal Award presentation, seasonal celebrations, and other special events
  • Two plant dividends per year- spring and fall
  • Long tours throughout the Arboretum highlighting plants of seasonal interest
  • Eligibility to go on domestic and international trips to some of the great public and private gardens of the world with Arboretum staff
  • Borrowing privileges in the Arboretum’s horticultural library, with subscriptions to over 50 periodicals, 100 newsletters, and more than 1,000 volumes devoted to horticulture, including a youth section
  • Volunteer opportunities to work in the Arboretum’s gardens and at special events

  • Admittance to the Members’ Plant Exchange & Sale, a plant swap held each spring
