A reminder of wonderful spring blooms that can be found with the Plant Sale plant Edgeworthia chrysantha courtesy of Diane Mattis’ latest edition of Blooms of the Season. She features the pale yellow of early spring with Corylopsis parviflora and Stachyurus praecox blooms as well as the unfurled shoot of the hosta. The double white blooms of Sanguinaria canadensis ‘Multiplex’ and textured fronds of Corydalis chelanthifolia complete this image.
Edgeworthia chrysantha’s fragrant umbrella-shaped flower clusters are proceded by silvery flower buds adding interest from mid-January to April to ensure that your garden appeal is “not finished with fall.” The silvery blue-green foliage turns yellow for fall color.
Pick up your own Edgeworthia at the Scott Associates Plant Sale on September 20 to 22, 2013.
