Being a Good Bluebird Landlord

March 1, 2023 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

$35 – $45

All three species of North American bluebirds—the Eastern, Western, and Mountain —seek tree cavities or woodpecker holes for nesting sites, though these spaces can be difficult to find. A well-built and well-placed bluebird nest box can help boost local populations. This program explores proper nest box construction and placement for Eastern Bluebirds. We will also discuss nest box predators, other birds that will use your boxes, how to care for the boxes, as well as nesting behavior and timetables. Join us as we look at the ways in which we can continue to help Eastern Bluebirds and other native cavity nesters remain numerous in our communities. Presentation will be followed by a workshop that includes materials, instructions, and assembly of a bluebird nest box.
