Join fellow members of the Scott Associates to explore Seven Springs Farm in Chester Springs, PA. Seven Springs Farm comprises 10 acres of gardens and a historic home nestled in the rolling forested hills of Chester County. Owners Bob and Nancy Holman have developed the gardens from only four trees over the past 25 years. The gardens span a Pinetum with a variety of mature, unusual conifers; a series of waterfalls leading to and from a koi pond surrounded by perennials, small shrubs, and deciduous trees; and vistas across the landscape down to Pine Creek. A thriving monkey-puzzle tree (Araucaria araucana), Wolf Eyes dogwood (Cornus kousa ‘Wolf Eyes’), and a ginkgo featuring unusual swellings (clusters of dormant buds) on the bark are just a few of the horticultural highlights. The property dates to at least 1769 and the stone house (1779), original home, and spring house add to the location’s charm.
